This table is stackable up to 8 and due to its paired inset and outer legs, can be alternated to allow for continuous rows without gaps between desks.

    • Frame made from welded round steel legs with a rectangular steel top frame, all powder-coated. The table is stackable (up to 8 high).
    • Table in 6 or 8 fixed heights or height adjustable depending on model, heightsin accordance with DIN EN 1729. Models with
    • Tabletop made from a chipboard core and a continuous pressure laminated surface (CPL) with plastic edge with square, rounded corners (LIGNOdur), or a phenolic (HPL) top.

What LIGNOdur is

LIGNOdur is VS’s patented molded/compressed wood-residue tabletop material used mainly on student desks and school tables. It is an “outstandingly tough” panel material used for tabletops, separate from LIGNOpal chipboard, compressed solid core, and CDF boards.

The tabletop is made from 95% recycled beechwood sawdust, compressed under 1,400 tons of pressure. It is a strong, sustainable school tabletop option.

How it is made

LIGNOdur boards are made from wood residue — sawdust and wood chips — created when machining solid wood. That material is compacted with a phenol-polymer adhesive under heat and high pressure, using a VS-patented process dating back to the 1960s. The result is described as an extremely rigid and highly durable board.

The top surface uses a decorative film/laminate that is pulled over the rounded edges and corners without seams, so the durable surface continues around the edge instead of stopping at a glued-on edge band. This rounded edge creates a tough, impact-resistant, student-safe tabletop designed for heavy school use. Meets E1 emissions and TSCA Title VI / CARB Phase II requirements.
