Whitney Brothers® was founded in 1904 as a producer of wooden toys in a sawmill powered by the Minnewawa River in Marlborough, NH.

The materials used are solid hardwoods and solid plywood laminates. Their manufacturing techniques achieve smooth, rounded edges that have the strong woodworking joints (dowel and glue, screws), and are finished by hand.

Whitney Brothers designs feature extra wide spaces between doors and frames and use full length continuous hinges or soft close hinges to prevent little fingers from getting pinched. Special care is also given to ensure that all knobs, handles, hooks, magnets and moving parts are smooth, rounded, and firmly attached to prevent breaking free under rigorous use.

All Whitney Brothers finishes are safe, non–toxic, American made and meet the most stringent safety requirements. Before any products are delivered to customers, each item must pass a 45–point safety inspection that far exceeds CPSIA standards.
