MooreCo Limited Lifetime Warranty Summary

D&D Learning Spaces is a dealer for MooreCo furniture. MooreCo manufactures classroom seating, desks, tables, soft seating, charging carts, visual-communication products, casegoods, library furniture and other products for educational and commercial environments.

Most qualifying MooreCo products carry a limited lifetime warranty, while certain materials, surfaces, mechanisms, electrical components and product families have separate warranty periods ranging from one year to 20 years.

What Does MooreCo’s Limited Lifetime Warranty Mean?

MooreCo warrants that its products will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the product unless a shorter warranty period is listed for the particular product, material or component.

For customers, this means that MooreCo may repair or replace a covered product if it fails because of a qualifying manufacturing or material defect during the applicable warranty period.

The limited lifetime warranty applies only when the product:

  • Was purchased directly from an authorized MooreCo dealer
  • Remains with the original purchaser
  • Remains in its original installation
  • Has not been sold, transferred or modified
  • Is installed, used and maintained according to MooreCo’s instructions
  • Is used indoors unless specifically approved for exterior use
  • Is used within its applicable weight and performance limits

The warranty terminates when the product is transferred, sold or modified. It also does not transfer to a replacement owner or a different installation.

The warranty described on MooreCo’s current website applies to qualifying products purchased after January 27, 2022, and delivered within the United States or Canada.

A limited lifetime warranty does not mean that every component is covered indefinitely. For example, chair frames may carry lifetime coverage while seating controls, pneumatic cylinders, electrical components or certain surfaces carry one-year warranties.

Who Is Covered?

MooreCo’s warranty applies to the original purchaser of a product purchased through an authorized MooreCo dealer.

The product must also remain in its original installation. The warranty ends if the furniture is:

  • Sold
  • Transferred to another owner
  • Moved to a different installation under circumstances that constitute a transfer
  • Modified
  • Altered with an unapproved attachment

MooreCo states that it will not recognize an attempted transfer of the warranty.

Customers should retain:

  • The original D&D Learning Spaces invoice
  • The purchase-order number
  • The product model number
  • The original purchase date
  • Product labels or serial numbers
  • Installation information
  • Photographs of the product

Proof that the customer is the original purchaser is required when a warranty claim is submitted.

What Is Covered?

MooreCo’s warranty generally covers qualifying defects in:

  • Original materials
  • Manufacturing
  • Workmanship
  • Structural frames
  • Chair, desk and table components listed in the warranty schedule
  • Porcelain writing surfaces
  • Covered storage products
  • Product-specific mechanical and electrical components during their stated warranty periods

If MooreCo determines that a product is defective, it may, at its sole discretion:

  • Repair the defective product
  • Replace the defective product
  • Provide replacement parts
  • Replace a discontinued product with a similar product

Repair or replacement is the customer’s sole remedy under the limited warranty. MooreCo determines which remedy is appropriate after reviewing the claim and, when necessary, inspecting the product.

Repair or replacement does not restart, renew or extend the original warranty period.

What Is Not Covered?

MooreCo’s warranty does not cover damage or product failure caused by:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Abuse
  • Misuse
  • Neglect
  • Vandalism
  • Accidents
  • Water
  • Fire
  • Unauthorized modifications
  • Unapproved attachments
  • Improper installation
  • Improper use
  • Improper maintenance
  • Failure to follow product instructions or warnings
  • Freight or carrier damage
  • Damage during unloading
  • Damage during installation
  • Rental use
  • Exterior use of products intended for indoor use
  • Uncontrolled high-temperature environments
  • Normal aging of fabrics, filling materials and finishes
  • Customer-supplied upholstery
  • Product incompatibility with the customer’s flooring or other property

Products installed, used or maintained contrary to MooreCo’s instructions are excluded from coverage.

Product-Specific Warranty Periods

Although many MooreCo products carry limited lifetime coverage, separate warranty periods apply to particular products, surfaces, materials and components.

The listed periods generally begin on the original date of sale.

Soft Seating — Limited Lifetime Warranty

MooreCo soft seating carries a limited lifetime warranty for qualifying defects in materials or workmanship.

This coverage applies to the covered product structure and components unless a shorter component-specific warranty applies.

Soft-seating fabric carries separate coverage:

  • Economy soft-seating fabric: 1 year
  • Other soft-seating fabric: applicable fabric vendor’s warranty

Normal aging and wear of fabrics, filling materials and finishes are not covered.

Chair, Desk and Table Frames — Limited Lifetime Warranty

Chair, desk and table frames carry a limited lifetime warranty against qualifying defects in materials and workmanship.

This coverage applies to the structural frame rather than every movable or replaceable component attached to the frame.

Seating controls, cylinders, bushings, folding mechanisms, rocker bases and wobble bases carry separate one-year warranties.

Compass Storage — Limited Lifetime Warranty

MooreCo Compass storage products carry a limited lifetime warranty against qualifying defects in materials and workmanship.

Book Boxes, Book Baskets and Backpack Hooks — Limited Lifetime Warranty

The following components carry a limited lifetime warranty:

  • Book boxes
  • Book baskets
  • Backpack hooks

Coverage applies to qualifying defects under normal installation, use and maintenance.

Porcelain Writing Surfaces — Limited Lifetime Warranty

MooreCo porcelain writing surfaces carry a limited lifetime warranty.

The manufacturing process may result in minor surface imperfections. MooreCo does not consider an imperfection warrantable when it cannot be seen from three feet away under diffuse lighting without deliberately searching for it.

A factory surface imperfection must erase in the same manner as the rest of the writing surface. An imperfection that does not erase normally may qualify for warranty coverage.

Dura-Rite Whiteboard Surfaces — 20-Year Warranty

The writing surfaces of whiteboards and mobile whiteboards made with Dura-Rite carry a 20-year warranty.

The coverage applies to the writing surface rather than automatically extending to the board’s frame, hardware, casters or other components.

Magne-Rite and Tackboard Surfaces — 10-Year Warranty

The surfaces of whiteboards and mobile whiteboards made with Magne-Rite, along with tackboard surfaces, carry a 10-year warranty.

TuF-Rite Whiteboard Surfaces — Five-Year Warranty

The writing surfaces of whiteboards and mobile whiteboards made with TuF-Rite carry a five-year warranty.

Seating Components

Seating Controls and Pneumatic Components — One-Year Warranty

The following seating components carry a one-year warranty:

  • Seating controls
  • Pneumatic cylinders
  • Bushings
  • Folding mechanisms
  • Rocker bases
  • Wobble bases

Coverage applies to qualifying manufacturing or material defects. Normal wear or failure caused by misuse, overloading or improper maintenance is excluded.

Glides — Six-Year Warranty

MooreCo furniture glides carry a six-year warranty.

Ordinary wear caused by repeated movement, unsuitable flooring, debris accumulation or misuse may not qualify as a manufacturing defect.

Casters — 13-Year Warranty

MooreCo casters carry a 13-year warranty against qualifying defects in materials and workmanship.

The warranty does not cover normal wheel wear, damage caused by debris, unsuitable flooring, overloading or improper use.

Chair Shells and Other Injection-Molded Products — 13-Year Warranty

Chair shells and other injection-molded products carry a 13-year warranty.

Natural variations in polypropylene or similar materials may occur and are not considered defects. MooreCo does not guarantee exact color, grain or texture matching in those materials.

MooreCo Seating Weight Limits

MooreCo seating is tested and warranted according to applicable current ANSI/BIFMA standards.

Use above the tested weight rating is not warranted and is considered misuse or abuse. Customers should confirm the published weight capacity for the specific chair or stool rather than assuming that every MooreCo seating model has the same capacity.

Tabletop and Furniture Surface Warranties

Table Tops — 13-Year Warranty

MooreCo table tops generally carry a 13-year warranty, except when a separate surface or material-specific warranty applies.

Examples with separate terms include dry-erase laminate, PVC, melamine, solid wood and certain casegood materials.

PVC and Melamine Laminate Furniture — One-Year Warranty

PVC- and melamine-laminate products carry a one-year warranty, including applicable:

  • Desks
  • Tables
  • Workstations
  • Carts
  • Other furniture

The warranty applies to qualifying defects in original materials and workmanship. Normal scratching, edge damage, moisture damage and ordinary wear are excluded.

Dry-Erase Laminate Table Surfaces — One-Year Warranty

Dry-erase laminate table surfaces carry a one-year warranty.

The warranty does not cover:

  • Ordinary ghosting
  • Scratches
  • Staining
  • Permanent-marker use
  • Damage caused by abrasive cleaners
  • Damage caused by unsuitable chemicals
  • Normal surface wear

Customers should use appropriate dry-erase markers and follow MooreCo’s cleaning instructions.

Clear Plastic and Acrylic — One-Year Warranty

Clear plastic and acrylic components carry a one-year warranty.

Scratching caused by the user is considered normal wear and is specifically excluded from coverage.

Solid Wood Seats and Table Tops — Component-Specific Coverage

Solid wood seats and solid wood table tops carry:

  • 1 year for finish defects and workmanship
  • 10 years for structural loss of serviceability

Natural variations in wood grain, color and texture are inherent material characteristics and are not necessarily defects.

Charging Cart Warranties

iTeach and Tablet/Chromebook Charging Carts — 12-Year Warranty

iTeach and tablet or Chromebook charging carts carry a 12-year warranty, excluding their electrical components.

Coverage applies to qualifying defects in the cart’s covered structure, materials and workmanship.

Charging-Cart Electrical Components — One-Year Warranty

Electrical components in iTeach and tablet or Chromebook charging carts carry a one-year warranty.

Damage caused by power surges, improper electrical connections, liquids, overloading, misuse or unauthorized modification may be excluded.

Electrical and Technology Product Warranties

General Electrical Components — One-Year Warranty

MooreCo electrical components carry a one-year warranty unless another period is specifically stated.

Coverage applies to qualifying defects in the original electrical component. It does not cover damage caused by:

  • Power fluctuations
  • Improper wiring
  • Unsupported electrical loads
  • Liquid exposure
  • Unauthorized service
  • Modifications
  • Failure to follow operating instructions

iTeach Electric Height-Adjustable Flat-Panel Wall Mount — Seven-Year Warranty

The structural and electrical components of the iTeach electric height-adjustable flat-panel wall mount carry a seven-year warranty.

iTeach Spider Flat-Panel Cart With Electric Mount — Seven-Year Warranty

The structural and electrical components of the iTeach Spider flat-panel cart with electric mount carry a seven-year warranty, excluding the casters.

The casters are covered under MooreCo’s separate caster warranty.

MoorePower Tower — Seven-Year Warranty

The structural and electrical components of the MoorePower Tower carry a seven-year warranty against qualifying defects in materials and workmanship.

Soft-Seating Fabric and Beanies

Economy Soft-Seating Fabric — One-Year Warranty

Economy soft-seating fabric carries a one-year warranty.

The warranty does not cover ordinary wear, staining, fading, cuts, punctures, soiling or damage caused by improper cleaning.

Standard Soft-Seating Fabric — Fabric Vendor’s Warranty

Soft-seating fabric other than MooreCo’s listed economy fabric is covered according to the applicable fabric vendor’s warranty.

The coverage period, exclusions and available remedy may therefore vary depending on the selected textile.

Customer’s Own Material — Not Covered

Customer’s Own Material, commonly called COM, is not warranted by MooreCo.

Any warranty for a customer-selected or customer-supplied textile must be pursued through the original fabric manufacturer or supplier.

Beanies by MooreCo — One-Year Warranty

Beanies by MooreCo carry a one-year warranty on seams and zippers for both indoor and outdoor models.

Normal fabric wear, fading, filling compression or damage caused by misuse is not covered.

Casegoods Warranties

MooreCo casegoods carry separate warranty periods based on their application and construction.

Educational Casegoods — 10-Year Warranty

Educational casegoods carry a 10-year warranty against qualifying defects in materials and workmanship.

Science Casegoods — Five-Year Warranty

Science casegoods carry a five-year warranty.

Damage caused by chemicals, water, heat, improper installation or unsuitable use may be excluded when it is not attributable to a manufacturing defect.

  • Solid wood: 20 years
  • Veneer or plywood core: 10 years
  • High-pressure laminate with particleboard core: 10 years
  • Thermafuse laminate with particleboard core: 5 years

Coverage applies to qualifying defects in the applicable materials and workmanship.

Warranty coverage remains subject to original ownership, original installation, proper indoor use, the product’s performance limits and MooreCo’s complete exclusions.

Indoor-Use Requirements

MooreCo states that its products are intended for interior use unless a product is expressly designed and approved for outdoor use.

Using an indoor product outdoors voids the warranty.

Indoor products should be protected from:

  • Rain
  • Standing water
  • Excessive humidity
  • Direct outdoor exposure
  • Uncontrolled heat
  • Fire
  • Prolonged exposure to unsuitable environmental conditions

MooreCo also excludes damage caused by the use or storage of products in facilities exposed to uncontrolled high temperatures.

Adhesive Product Temperature Requirements

Adhesive products installed at temperatures below 50°F, or 10°C, are excluded from warranty coverage.

Installation areas should meet the product’s temperature requirements before adhesive products are applied.

Projector Compatibility Requirements

Short-throw wall-mounted projectors are warranted only when used with the following MooreCo products:

  • Interactive Projector Board 2G5 Series
  • Interactive Projector Board 4G5 Series
  • Interactive Projector Board and Whiteboard System 764XX

Use of a short-throw wall-mounted projector with another MooreCo writing surface is not covered under this compatibility provision.

Natural Material and Color Variations

Natural variations in polypropylene and other materials are inherent characteristics and are not considered defects.

MooreCo does not warrant exact matching or colorfastness among:

  • Colors
  • Grains
  • Textures
  • Natural materials
  • Molded materials

Minor differences between furniture pieces, production runs or material samples may therefore be commercially acceptable rather than warrantable defects.

Rental Products — Not Covered

Products used for rental purposes are excluded from MooreCo’s warranty.

Organizations purchasing furniture for leasing, rental inventory or repeated temporary installations should not assume that the standard limited lifetime warranty applies.

Third-Party Products and Components

Third-party products supplied to MooreCo are not covered directly by MooreCo’s standard product warranty.

To the extent possible, MooreCo will pass through the original third-party manufacturer’s warranty and assist the original purchaser with the applicable claim.

Third-party warranty terms may include:

  • Different coverage periods
  • Different exclusions
  • Separate claim procedures
  • Different available remedies

Freight, Unloading and Installation Damage

MooreCo’s standard warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused by a freight carrier while the product is in transit
  • Damage caused while unloading the product
  • Damage caused during installation

Carrier damage must be handled as a freight claim against the carrier. Damage occurring during unloading or installation must be handled with the responsible installer.

Customers should inspect deliveries promptly and retain:

  • Shipping cartons
  • Packaging materials
  • Shipping labels
  • Delivery receipts
  • Photographs of visible damage
  • Photographs of concealed damage
  • Installation records

Damage should be reported to D&D Learning Spaces immediately so the appropriate carrier or installer claim can be initiated.

Shipping and Labor Costs for Warranty Service

The purchaser is generally responsible for:

  • Shipping the product to MooreCo’s repair facility
  • Shipping the repaired product back from the facility
  • Labor associated with repairs or replacements
  • Labor or materials required to remove and replace products

For products returned for repair within the first 30 days after purchase, MooreCo pays the applicable shipping charges. After that initial period, shipping costs are the purchaser’s responsibility.

MooreCo does not pay labor costs connected with warranty repair or replacement.

What Will MooreCo Do for an Approved Claim?

If MooreCo determines that a product qualifies under the applicable warranty, it may, at its discretion:

  • Supply replacement parts
  • Authorize repairs
  • Repair the product
  • Replace the product
  • Replace a discontinued product with a similar product

Repair or replacement is the exclusive warranty remedy. MooreCo determines the appropriate resolution after reviewing the claim and inspecting the product when it considers an inspection necessary.

MooreCo’s liability is limited to the product’s cost or, at its option, its repair or replacement. Incidental and consequential damages are excluded to the extent permitted by law.

Warranty Claim Time Limit

The customer must contact MooreCo within 30 days after discovering the defect.

Waiting longer than 30 days after discovering the issue may affect the customer’s ability to obtain warranty service.

Return Authorization Requirements

A product must not be shipped to MooreCo without prior return authorization.

Products returned to a MooreCo facility without an approved return authorization will be refused.

Customers should not:

  • Ship a product directly to MooreCo without approval
  • Arrange unauthorized repairs
  • Dispose of the product
  • Modify the affected component
  • Remove product labels
  • Incur labor or service costs before the claim is reviewed
