Jonti-Craft Product Limited Warranty Summary

D&D Learning Spaces is an authorized Jonti-Craft dealer. Jonti-Craft manufactures early-learning and classroom furniture, including Baltic birch storage, activity tables, chairs, cubbies, dramatic-play furniture, portable sinks, outdoor furniture, cots and related educational products.

Warranty coverage varies by product family. Jonti-Craft’s current warranty provides coverage ranging from one year to a lifetime, depending on the brand or product category.

What Does Jonti-Craft’s Lifetime Warranty Mean?

Jonti-Craft’s lifetime warranty means that qualifying products are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship from the date of delivery for as long as the original purchaser owns the product.

For customers, this means that Jonti-Craft may repair or replace a covered product—or refund its purchase price—if the product develops a qualifying defect during normal and proper installation, use and maintenance.

The lifetime warranty:

• Begins on the date the product is delivered to the purchaser or the purchaser’s agent
• Applies only to the original purchaser
• Remains in effect only while the original purchaser owns the product
• Does not transfer to a subsequent owner or transferee
• Applies only to the product families specifically listed as covered

A lifetime warranty does not mean that every Jonti-Craft product or component is covered indefinitely. Several product categories carry separate 15-year, 10-year, five-year or one-year warranties. Carpeted and upholstered parts are also excluded from the product warranty.

Who Is Covered?

Jonti-Craft’s warranty applies to the original purchaser of a covered product purchased from Jonti-Craft or one of its authorized dealers, such as D&D Learning Spaces.

Because Jonti-Craft cannot control the condition or authenticity of products sold by unauthorized sellers, it reserves the right to reject warranty claims for products purchased from unauthorized sellers or unauthorized internet sites, except where prohibited by law.

The warranty does not transfer when the product is:

• Resold
• Donated
• Transferred to another organization
• Given to another owner

Customers should retain:

• The original D&D Learning Spaces invoice
• The purchase-order number
• The Jonti-Craft model or item number
• The delivery date
• Product labels or identification markings
• Photographs of the product
• Records of installation and maintenance

Proof of purchase is required before a product can be returned or submitted for warranty service.

What Is Covered?

Jonti-Craft warrants that covered products will be free from defects in materials and workmanship:

• At the time of delivery
• During the applicable warranty period
• Under normal installation
• Under normal and proper use
• With proper maintenance

The warranty applies only to the product families specifically identified in Jonti-Craft’s published warranty schedule.

When Jonti-Craft determines that a claim qualifies, it may, at its sole discretion:

• Repair the defective product
• Replace the defective product
• Refund the product’s purchase price

Jonti-Craft determines the appropriate remedy after reviewing the claim and, when required, inspecting the returned product.

What Is Not Covered?

Jonti-Craft’s warranty does not cover damage, defects or product failure caused by:

• Unauthorized alterations
• Unauthorized modifications
• Improper installation
• Improper use
• Improper maintenance
• Tampering
• Misuse
• Abuse
• Outdoor use of products intended for indoor use
• Acts of God
• Weather
• Flood
• Fire
• Other forces outside Jonti-Craft’s control
• Normal wear and tear
• Natural aging of materials
• Cosmetic variations in surfaces or finishes
• Carpeted parts
• Upholstered parts
• Similar accessories
• Products not expressly listed in the warranty schedule

EverPlay Outdoor Furniture is the stated exception to Jonti-Craft’s general indoor-use requirement.

Product-Specific Warranty Periods

Jonti-Craft assigns separate warranty periods to its different furniture brands and product categories.

Coverage begins on the date the product is delivered to the original purchaser or the purchaser’s agent.

Jonti-Craft Birch Furniture — Lifetime Warranty

Jonti-Craft Birch Furniture carries a lifetime warranty against qualifying defects in materials and workmanship.

This category includes qualifying furniture manufactured under the primary Jonti-Craft Baltic birch furniture line.

Coverage remains in effect for as long as the original purchaser owns the product, provided that the furniture is properly installed, used indoors and maintained according to Jonti-Craft’s requirements.

Rainbow Accents Furniture — Lifetime Warranty

Rainbow Accents furniture carries a lifetime warranty.

The warranty applies to qualifying defects in the product’s original materials and workmanship. Normal wear, finish changes, cosmetic differences and carpeted or upholstered portions are excluded.

MapleWave Furniture — Lifetime Warranty

MapleWave furniture carries a lifetime warranty against qualifying defects in materials and workmanship.

Coverage applies only to the original purchaser and does not transfer to another owner.

TrueModern Furniture — Lifetime Warranty

TrueModern furniture carries a lifetime warranty.

The product must be properly installed, used and maintained and must remain with the original purchaser.

KYDZ Suite Furniture — Lifetime Warranty

KYDZ Suite furniture carries a lifetime warranty against qualifying defects in materials and workmanship.

This lifetime term applies to qualifying KYDZ Suite furniture as a product family. Individual accessories or products not listed as covered should be reviewed separately.

EverPlay Outdoor Furniture — 15-Year Warranty

EverPlay Outdoor Furniture carries a 15-year warranty.

EverPlay is specifically designed for outdoor use and is the exception to Jonti-Craft’s general requirement that covered products be used indoors.

The warranty covers qualifying manufacturing and material defects. It does not provide coverage for all weather-related deterioration, normal wear, misuse or damage caused by forces outside Jonti-Craft’s control.

QuietTime Cots and Cot Carts — 10-Year Warranty

QuietTime cots and cot carts carry a 10-year warranty.

Coverage applies to qualifying defects in the covered product’s original materials and workmanship under normal installation, use and maintenance.

Ordinary wear and tear and carpeted or upholstered accessories are excluded.

Berries Tables and Chairs — Five-Year Warranty

Berries tables and chairs carry a five-year warranty.

The warranty applies to qualifying defects in materials and workmanship during the five-year period following delivery.

Damage caused by overloading, misuse, improper installation, unauthorized modifications or normal wear is excluded.

KYDZ Ladderback Chairs — Five-Year Warranty

Jonti-Craft KYDZ Ladderback Chairs carry a five-year warranty.

Coverage applies to qualifying defects in the chair’s original materials and workmanship. The chair must be properly assembled, maintained and used for its intended indoor application.

Young Time Furniture — One-Year Warranty

Young Time furniture carries a one-year warranty.

Coverage applies to qualifying defects in materials and workmanship during the first year after delivery.

Ready-to-Assemble Furniture — One-Year Warranty

Jonti-Craft Ready-to-Assemble, or RTA, furniture carries a one-year warranty.

Because these products require assembly, warranty eligibility depends on correct assembly and installation according to the supplied instructions.

Damage caused by improper assembly, missing hardware installed incorrectly or unauthorized modifications is excluded.

Jonti-Craft Glider Rocker — One-Year Warranty

The Jonti-Craft Glider Rocker carries a one-year warranty.

The warranty covers qualifying defects in materials and workmanship. Upholstered portions are excluded under Jonti-Craft’s general warranty exclusions.

Clean Hands Helper Portable Sinks — One-Year Warranty

Jonti-Craft Clean Hands Helper Portable Sinks carry a one-year warranty.

Coverage applies to qualifying defects in the covered product’s original materials and workmanship.

Damage caused by improper use, inadequate maintenance, unsuitable water handling, unauthorized modifications or forces outside Jonti-Craft’s control is excluded.

Table Dividers and Desktop Shields — One-Year Warranty

Jonti-Craft table dividers and desktop shields carry a one-year warranty.

Coverage applies to qualifying defects in materials and workmanship. Scratches, cosmetic wear, impact damage, misuse and damage caused by unsuitable cleaners are not covered.

Plastic Bins and Tubs — One-Year Warranty

Jonti-Craft plastic bins and tubs carry a one-year warranty.

The warranty covers qualifying defects in their original materials and workmanship. Ordinary scratching, discoloration, impact damage, overloading and normal wear are excluded.

All warranty periods begin on the date the product is delivered to the original purchaser or the purchaser’s agent. Lifetime coverage continues only while the original purchaser owns the covered product.

Indoor-Use Requirements

Except for EverPlay Outdoor Furniture, Jonti-Craft’s covered products are intended for indoor use only.

Using an indoor product outdoors removes it from warranty coverage.

Indoor furniture should be protected from:

• Rain
• Snow
• Standing water
• Excessive humidity
• Direct weather exposure
• Uncontrolled temperatures
• Prolonged exposure to sunlight
• Flooding
• Fire
• Other damaging environmental conditions

Customers should confirm that the product is specifically identified as EverPlay Outdoor Furniture before placing it outdoors.

EverPlay Outdoor Furniture

EverPlay Outdoor Furniture is the only product family specifically exempted from the general indoor-use restriction in Jonti-Craft’s warranty.

Its 15-year warranty covers qualifying defects in materials and workmanship but does not guarantee against every change caused by outdoor exposure.

Normal environmental aging, ordinary wear and damage caused by extraordinary weather events or forces beyond Jonti-Craft’s control may not qualify for coverage.

Carpeted and Upholstered Parts

Jonti-Craft expressly excludes carpeted and upholstered parts of covered products, along with similar accessories, from its product limited warranty.

This means the furniture frame or cabinet may remain covered while an attached carpet, fabric or upholstered component is not.

Excluded conditions may include:

• Carpet wear
• Fabric wear
• Staining
• Fading
• Soiling
• Cuts or punctures
• Cushion compression
• Upholstery damage
• Damage caused by improper cleaning

Any separate warranty available from the carpet or textile manufacturer would need to be reviewed independently.

Natural Material and Finish Variations

Jonti-Craft does not cover cosmetic differences or natural aging in materials and finishes.

Excluded variations include differences in:

• Colorfastness
• Surface tones
• Wood grain
• Texture
• Color between different materials
• Color between separate production lots
• Clear-coat finishes
• Fabric appearance

Wood is a natural material, and differences in grain, tone and appearance are not necessarily manufacturing defects.

The appearance of wood, clear finishes and fabrics may also change naturally as the product ages.

Proper Installation, Use and Maintenance

To preserve warranty eligibility, covered Jonti-Craft products must be:

• Properly installed
• Properly assembled
• Used for their intended purpose
• Used in the appropriate indoor or outdoor environment
• Maintained according to Jonti-Craft’s requirements
• Protected from misuse and abuse
• Kept free of unauthorized modifications

Customers should contact D&D Learning Spaces before:

• Modifying the furniture
• Drilling into a product
• Adding unapproved hardware
• Making structural repairs
• Replacing operating components
• Using an indoor product outside

Unauthorized alteration, modification, repair or misuse may void warranty coverage.

Damage From Events Outside Jonti-Craft’s Control

Jonti-Craft does not cover damage resulting from forces outside its control.

Examples listed in the warranty include:

• Acts of God
• Weather
• Flood
• Fire

Damage from these events is not treated as a defect in the product’s original materials or workmanship.

What Will Jonti-Craft Do for an Approved Claim?

If Jonti-Craft determines that a covered product is defective under the applicable warranty, it may, at its sole discretion:

• Repair the defective product
• Replace the defective product
• Refund the product’s purchase price

The customer does not automatically have the right to choose among these remedies. Jonti-Craft determines the appropriate resolution after reviewing and inspecting the product.

Jonti-Craft’s liability for a claim is limited to no more than the purchase price paid for the defective covered product.

The warranty excludes incidental, consequential, indirect and punitive damages, including lost profits or business interruption, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Return Authorization Requirements

A Jonti-Craft product must not be returned without prior authorization.

Before returning a product, the purchaser must:

• Have proof of purchase
• Contact Jonti-Craft
• Obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization number, or RMA
• Obtain return instructions
• Arrange shipment according to Jonti-Craft’s directions

Products should not be shipped directly to Jonti-Craft without the required RMA and return instructions.

Shipping Costs for Warranty Service

The purchaser is responsible for:

• Shipping the covered product to Jonti-Craft for inspection
• Shipping a repaired product back to the purchaser
• Shipping a replacement product to the purchaser

Shipping charges vary according to the product.

Customers should consider the size and weight of the product before a return is authorized, as furniture-return shipping can be significant.

Warranty Inspection and Service Process

After Jonti-Craft receives the product and proof of purchase, it will:

• Inspect the product
• Determine whether the product is covered
• Notify the purchaser of its decision
• Provide an approved remedy when coverage applies
• Request instructions for the product’s disposition when coverage does not apply

A claim is not approved merely because a product has been returned. Coverage is determined after inspection.

Customers who purchased Jonti-Craft furniture through D&D Learning Spaces should contact us for assistance with a potential warranty claim.

Please be prepared to provide:

• The original D&D Learning Spaces order or invoice number
• The purchase-order number
• The name of the purchasing school, district or organization
• The Jonti-Craft brand or product family
• The product model or item number
• The original delivery date
• Proof of purchase
• A detailed description of the problem
• A photograph of the complete product
• Close-up photographs of the defective or damaged area
• Photographs of product labels or identification markings
• Information about how the product was assembled
• Information about how the product has been used
• Information about its indoor or outdoor location

D&D Learning Spaces can help organize the required documentation and coordinate the claim with Jonti-Craft.

Customers should not independently return, modify, repair or dispose of the product before the claim has been reviewed and return instructions have been issued.

When a return is required, Jonti-Craft must provide an RMA number and shipping instructions before the product is sent for inspection.

Final decisions regarding warranty eligibility and whether to repair, replace or refund the covered product are made by Jonti-Craft under its published warranty terms.
